V/Q scans : looking for defects
On a ventilation/perfusion study the scans are examined to look for defects
in the lung fields and the appearance of the ventilation is compared with
perfusion
Possible outcomes
- No defects (click)
- Matched defects of ventilation and perfusion (click)
- Mismatched perfusion defect (i.e. defect on perfusion but
no defect on ventilation) (Click)
- Mismatched ventilation defect (better perfusion than
ventilation) (click)
