MRI of the Chest

MRI scanning in the chest has been only slowly accepted into clinical practice

Like CT, MRI of the chest can be used to distinguish between blood vessels, cyst, fat and solid masses.

MRI can also show increased water content in tissues such as the mediastinal fat (due to infection or infiltration) and in the lung
